Undefeated 140-pound champion Danny “Swift” Garcia spent December 2 kicking off “Championing for the Philadelphia Community” for the holiday season.
The day started out with a clothing giveaway for two lucky families at Burlington Coat Factory, followed by a coat giveaway at Casa Del Carmen Family Service Center and concluding with a motivational speech and donation to Universal Vare Charter School.
“In the winter, my family would sleep in one room around a heater to stay warm,” Garcia said.
“I understand firsthand the support families need during the winter season, and this is one of many enduring efforts I am planning in the Philadelphia community.”
Garcia spent the rest of December visiting Philadelphia schools to spread his message that "dreams do come true" in hopes of inspiring the youngsters to stay committed to their education and pursuing their goals.
Garcia took part in "Giving Tuesday" in Philadelphia helping his local community.
