The last time Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero fought at the StubHub Center in Carson, California, the action was as hot as the June sun that baked the open-air arena prior to the bout.

Robert Guerrero, right, defeated Yoshihiro Kamagai last June in his last fight at the StubHub Center in Carson, California.

A year after he hammered out a bruising victory over Yoshihiro Kamagai in a gunpowder-explosive slugfest, Robert Guerrero (32-3-1, 18 KOs) returns to the StubHub Center on June 6 to take on Aron Martinez (19-3-1, 4 KOs) in a venue that’s become renowned for hosting some of the best action fights annually.

This card looks to build on that rep, with lights-out heavyweight Chris Arreola (36-4, 31 KOs) and the relentless Alfredo Angulo (22-5, 18 KOs) also fighting in separate bouts against opponents to be named later. Also on the card is a 126-pound showdown between Jesus Cuellar (26-1, 20 KOs) and Vic Darchinyan (40-7-1, 29 KOs).

The fights will be broadcast on NBC beginning at 3 p.m. ET/noon PT.

“I'm very happy to be making a quick return to the ring, especially on NBC,” said Guerrero, who will be fighting for the first time since dropping a fiercely contested decision to Keith Thurman in March. “It’s an honor to be fighting at StubHub Center once again as the main event. I'm going to bring it like always and give the fans an exciting fight. I can't wait for the bell to ring.”

For his part, Martinez will be looking to rebound from a loss to Josesito Lopez in April 2014.

“Since my last fight, I've been in the gym working extremely hard," Martinez says. “I want to shock the world and beat ‘The Ghost.’ Make no mistake about it, I'm coming to win.”
