Amir Khan gets the hype going in his native Great Britain

It's been a good few weeks already for British fight fans following Premier Boxing Champions, with Jamie McDonnell's narrow win over Tomoki Kameda on May 9 in Hidalgo, Texas, and James DeGale's unanimous decision over Andre Dirrell on May 23 in Boston. Now it's down to one of the country's most popular fighters to try to bring a third win in less than a month back to the United Kingdom.

Amir Khan and Chris Algieri are ready to go to war, or to go to a fashion shoot. Or both.

Amir Khan isn't just a big hit with fight fans across the pond. Whenever he fights—and often, who he might, or who he won't—it makes sports page headlines. With his Friday tilt against Chris Algieri scheduled for 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT happening in local time at 2 a.m., it will still be in play for British fans after they get home from the pub. Or are still at the pub. The important part being that this not interfere with precious pub time.

The British title? Like "His Royal Highness?" Because we're pretty sure that one might not be available.

Oh, that's unnecessary.

Oh, that's really unnecessary.

Of course, it's not just the fans that get excited for Khan's fights. The local media kicks into high gear whenever Khan is in action.
