PBC Jabs: December 20, 2018

This Saturday, December 22nd. we present our final show of 2018 and launch our new PBC on FOX series from Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. The broadcast starts on FOX at 8:00pm ET/5:00pm PT and remember you can stream the action live on the FOX Sports Go App.

The telecast begins with WBC mandatory challenger Dominic “Trouble” Breazeale taking on Puerto Rico’s Carlos Negron in a 10-round heavyweight bout.

In the co-feature, Junior Middleweight Champ Jermell Charlo makes the fourth defense of his WBC title against 154-pound title challenger Tony Harrison.

And the main event, features Jermall Charlo defending his interim WBC middleweight title against once-beaten Russian contender Matt Korobov. Korobov replaced Willie Monroe Jr. earlier this week after the New York native tested positive for a banned substance by VADA under the WBC Clean Boxing Program. Korobov was already scheduled to fight on the December 22nd undercard and gladly stepped up to face Charlo.

Of this Charlo said, “I was well prepared for Willie Monroe, who is a southpaw, so there won’t be that much difference facing Korobov. There is a size difference. He’s taller than Monroe, but I’ll just have to adjust my game plan.”

In other news, 2018 was filled with great moments and knockouts and now it’s almost time for you, the fans, to vote for your favorite PBC moments and fighters of 2018. The categories are: Prospect of the Year, Knockout of the Year, Fight of the Year and Fighter of the Year. Voting begins Monday, December 24th, on PBC social media channels and website.
